The Gatetway Creamery Restaurant/Bar - Joplin, MONestled one-half block north of the Mother Road (Historic U.S. Route 66) in downtown Joplin, Missouri is situated The Gateway Creamery Co. Restaurant and Bar. Building constructed in 1900 as a warehouse for Thomas Fruit Co., then in early 20th century it became The Gateway Creamery delivering milk and dairy products to the citizens of the local community by horse and wagon. Current owners completely renovated the structure in 2003 and into 2004 to current Joplin, MO building and fire codes. Operations began in October, 2004 and current operations ceased in January of 2007 due to health considerations of the owners.
