Description
Alright, here we go. What we have is an Eastern Tennessee home on 5.8 acres of land located in Spring City Tn. We are 50 miles north of Chattanoga, 60 miles south of Knoxville and 20 miles from Dayton Tn. We are on a mountain with tons of trees. You can hunt on your land where plenty of deer and turkey exist. Humming birds, cardinals, owls, hawks, and many other varities of birds exist. We have a fleet of hummers that show up all day to feed. The garden is already planted as the photo shows. Beans, tomatoes, cantalope, watermellon, okra, squash, lettuce, peppers and other veggies are growing. Now a little about the taxes. I almost had to get a loan from all my friends to pay them. My tax bill for 2008 was an unreal amount of $76.00. It was a stretch, but I managed to pay them. My homeowner policy was another shocker------that low life agent charged me $400 for a whole year. How in the world was I going to pay that amount??? I some how managed it though. Now a little about the home. It is a 14x70 Fleetwood, 1979 with central heat and air. I installed a vent free fireplace that uses propane and it really heats the whole house in the winter. There is a 250 gallon tank that I lease for $55.00 per year. This winter, I used about 80 gallons of propane. The rest of the house is electric. We never turned on the central heat at all. Now about the winter, it was KILLER. I almost had to get a snow plow. We had a total of 3 inches, thats right--3 inches. They house uses DIRECT TV with local channels included. Also, I had the house wired for high speed internet using DSL. The bill comes from your local telephone company. Also, I had VONAGE telephone service brought in. Included in this sale, all appliances and the washer and dryer stay with the home. I have installed a digital thermostat also. Why are we moving, well my new job is 60 miles away. Nough said???? gas at 3.49 is what it is. Down side to living here, well here goes, the mailbox is about 1/2 mile down the road, the asphalt ends at the same point. So the road that I live on, is gravel but is maintained. Cell phone sevice is spotty but does work most of the time. When we go to town, it works great. Dayton Tn has a new WALMART and LOWES. Now for the liquor laws. Beer is always available, but wine and hard spirits have to be bought approx. 35 miles away at a state run store. Chattanooga, Cleveland and other surrounding citys, liquor is no problem. The major restrauants want to come to town, but the laws have to be changed to let liquor be served by the drink. I believe they will be voting on that in the near future. Now traffic is a real problem up here, I just about had to call the Dept of Transportation the other day and ask them to install a traffic light in front of our house. Well we must have had 10 cars drive by that day. Now you are the kind of people that need a ton of neighbors around you, this home AIN'T for you. There is 2 country stores within a mile to handle your basic needs. We are about 10-15 miles away from the Tennessee River and Watts bar lake. Just about any kind of fishing is here. From trout to bass to crappie to catfish. Plenty of marina's to handle just about any kind of boat you own. Gambling can be done at HARRAH's in Cherokee. The Great Smokies are nearby along with DollyWorld. I share a well with our neighbor and pay $20.00 a month for that service. You can drop your own well if you prefer. A brief description of the land is as follows: the home is located on about 1 acre of flatland. On the backside of the house, it slops down about 50 yards to a knoll that is flat. At that point it drops off down the mountain to a stream that belongs to a neighbor. We often thought about putting a doublewide down on the knoll. If interested, please drop an email and give us 24 hours to free ourselves up. I have a local real estate pro to handle the closing. Thanx for taking time to check out this home. Answers to some questions and additional info: A) It has a shingle roof and NO leaks B) School bus picks up children at mail boxes (1/2 mile away) C) White tail deer D) Fire dept is 1 mile away E) There is a small fenced in area for pets located by the back door and steps. H) Trees on the land are: MAPLE, OAK, DOGWOOD and POPLAR. (No pine, we don't need any lighting rods here) I) Last but not least, when I submitted this ad, gas was 3.49 a gallon. That was 2 weeks ago, I filled up yesterday and paid 3.69 This fuel situation really is getting to be a drag. Sat the 24th, more answers to questions: 1) Phone numbers are as follows: 423-533-4107, cell 423-618-9281, vontage 423-545-4640 2) We live in BLEDSOE county 3) Our mininum price is $59,900 4) We have insulated storm windows 5) No state income tax in TN. 6) TVA supplies the elec. 7) As we live on a mountain, tornado's are not a problem- they follow the valleys and flat lands. 8) The temps here are about 7-8 degrees cooler than in town. 9) Elevation is approx: 2000' 10) Trout seem to like flies, worms and meps spinners. 11) Last but not least, we went to Crossville Tn today (TN's largest flea market), filled up at a MERE $3.77 a gallon. (wife jokes and states that anyone who offers FREE gas for a year can own this house, I thought about that and an considered it for a moment, and then I smack momma in the mouth, and I say 5 years maybe!!!! And if you believe that, you haven't met my wife, that woman is as mean as a stepped on rattlesnake)
