Description
THE LOST WORLD MINES The Lost World Mines have been in private hands since 1914, owned by members of the Boyd family. This the only property of its kind in the entire region that is privately owned. Land consists of 42 patented mining claims of approximately 40-50 acres each, with a combined total of 1684 acres. All surface and sub-surface mineral rights are included with the claims, in a location with the largest concentration of gold mining fields in North America. Diamonds, iron ore, and other native minerals have also been found in this area. Rivers run throughout the property, which also encompasses 17 lakes teeming with fish, including pickerel, trout, and many other northern varieties. The land can also be logged, there is approximately $1M of standing timber on the property. This pristine piece of property could also be developed, used for sporting, or simply enjoyed for its beauty. Property is located in Ontario, Canada, Northeast of Wawa and 19 miles from the Trans-Canada Highway. It is about 175 miles North of Sault St. Marie, Michigan, Northwest of Timmins, a large mining center, and Lake Superior is about 19 miles to the South. A $12M mining road goes through the property, connecting Dubreuilville to the Goudreau mining area. In addition to easy access via major roads, the mines also have railroad access. The Algoma Railway has a stop in town, and freight trains also run through. Land for sale has frontage to railway and approval for a railway station on the property. Private roads run throughout with bridges that will support cars over most rivers. There is also a rough, 2000' landing strip for small planes, and some of the lakes are large enough for seaplane landing. Telephone and electric lines are present. I have been authorized by Sheppard Kolb, who has exclusive rights to sell this property, to provide information regarding The Lost World Mines to all interested parties. There is a DVD available with a detailed description of the property, which I would be more than happy to send on request. UPDATE!! This property has recently been reduced yet again, as the owner is extremely motivated to sell. He would like to bring this to closure as soon as possible. Any interested parties should contact me immediately with their offers, as all reasonable offers will be considered. PLEASE CONTACT ME prior to bidding to ensure your sincerity, or I will be forced to cancel your bid. SERIOUS BIDDERS may also contact Mr. Kolb directly either by email: Kolb369@hotmail.com, or phone: (401) 480-1767. UPDATED MINING INFORMATION This property is currently owned by an eccentric Scottish-American family who have refused for decades to develop the land in any way. While we have had several offers from individuals wishing to purchase only the land, this valuable parcel is unique for being the only property in the vicinity where the owner retains both surface and sub-surface mining rights. Most mined property in Canada is leased, with the government receiving a percentage of the profits. The owner does not wish to retain mining rights, and insists this property transfer, well under value, with all surface and sub-surface rights. Consequently, the new owner will have the right, if desired, to lease these mining rights to a mining company. Many money managers feel that mining is a rock-solid investment, and Canada has become one of the safest havens for investors. Its $1.3T economy is based on natural resources, with stable currency and laws that protect investors’ money. A new owner wishing to take advantage of the mining potential of this property would be entitled to several government resources. Canada provides geomagnetic studies and the advice of a geologist free to private property owners with surface and sub-surface mineral rights. The 42 claims that make up this property are located in the Goudreau gold mining region in an area known as a Greenstone Belt, where volcanic disturbances deep within the earth’s crust have pushed up areas of ancient rock two to three billion years old and rich with minerals. These areas are polymetallic, meaning the land can be mined for multiple minerals simultaneously. Aluminum, coal, chrysolite, copper, gold, lead, nickel, potash, salt, zinc, diamonds, and other valuable minerals and gemstones are all found in this region. The property is also located on one of the largest veins of iron ore in North America, in fact, this mine was once known as “Iron Mountain”. The Lost World Mines offer an estimated 1-5 million tons of iron ore. In addition to the price of gold recently hitting $830+ per ounce, Canada has become the second largest producer of diamonds in the world after Africa. YOUR OWN PRIVATE RETREAT! Resources aside, The Lost World Mines is a pristine piece of Canadian wilderness that would be the perfect spot for a private or corporate retreat. As much of the surrounding land has been designated as an “improvement area”, a new, $90M hydroelectric dam has been built on the Magpie River near the southern portion of the property, providing unlimited power potential. Canada encourages tourism, and these vast expanses of forests and lakes are especially attractive to outdoorsmen for the incredible hunting and fishing opportunities they offer. Golfing is also extremely popular here. The Lost World Mines offer approximately 600 acres of gently rolling land cleared by past logging, which would be ideal for a golf course. Presently, the nearest golfing opportunity is a 9-hole executive course about 60 miles from Wawa. A country club or lodge could be built from the standing timber and granite onsite, and would likely be very attractive to both locals and tourists. This portion of land is in the northeastern section of the property, closest to Dubreuilville and Wawa, and is easily accessed via roads and rail. In fact, permission has been granted for a railway station to be built on the property as a switch off the main track of the Algoma Railway. The cleared portion of the property is also rich with excellent topsoil, a valuable resource in an area with little arable land, and could be farmed or used to support livestock. This land could also be developed as residential property. While many parts of North American are currently threatened by water shortages, this property has an unlimited supply of pure, clean water. NEW INFORMATION is now available, including a DVD with government-provided aerial magnetic surveys of the claims that comprise the Lost World Mines. Please also note new pics relative to this property, showing samples of mineral-laden rock, beautiful waterfalls, woods, the general topography of the land, and seaplanes taking off from Wawa, which can be hired to transport one to the Lost World Mines. UPDATE Owner is now considering selling claims separately. Would prefer a sale of entire property but will consider offers for individual claims.
